John Dowd

Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner

John Dowd, Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner, has decades of experience generating attractive risk-adjusted returns as a manager of capital. He was the CEO of GoGreen Investments that merged with LifeZone Metals and is currently on its Board. He spent more than three decades researching and investing in the global energy industry, including 14 years as portfolio manager of Fidelity Research & Management Company’s energy- and natural resources-oriented sector funds. He received six Lipper awards for his funds’ performance during that time, including one recognizing his 10-year track record of performance in the energy sector. He has provided expert testimony to the U.S. Senate on energy matters. Mr. Dowd covered the oil service and equipment, and refining and integrated oil segments as a senior research analyst for Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. He is a former partner of Lawhill Capital Partners, an energy-focused investment management firm.

Govind Friedland

Founding Partner

Govind Friedland, Founding Partner, possesses a unique multicultural background, having lived much of his life in Asia immersed in the mineral exploration industry. He was the COO of GoGreen Investments that merged with Lifezone Metals and is currently on its Board. He has spent more than 20 years working internationally to finance, explore and develop strategic mineral deposits critical for combating global air pollution. His career experience has focused primarily on nickel, copper and uranium. Mr. Friedland is the founder, former CEO and current executive chairman of GoviEx Uranium Inc. (TSXV:GXU), an advanced stage African-focused uranium mine developer and explorer. He served on the board of directors at Cordoba Minerals Corp. (TSXV:CDB), which is developing the San Matias copper/gold complex north of Medellin, Colombia; and Sama Resources Inc. (TSXV:SME), which is exploring the Samapleau nickel/copper project in Ivory Coast, West Africa. Mr. Friedland is a founding shareholder of I-Pulse Inc., a U.S. corporation that uses proprietary semiconductors and artificial intelligence to power disruptive industrial solutions across a range of industries including mineral exploration, processing, water discovery, grid-scale geothermal power, battery storage and advanced manufacturing.

Michael Sedoy, CFA

Founding Partner

Michael Sedoy, CFA, Founding Partner, has 20 years of experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure and alternative energy investment. He was the CFO of GoGreen Investments that merged with LifeZone Metals. He is a former portfolio manager at Cinctive Capital, Kimmeridge Capital and Diamondback Capital, where he was responsible for managing long-short portfolios in the global energy, utilities and energy transition sectors. Prior to joining the hedge fund industry, Mr. Sedoy was co-portfolio manager of two capital and income funds at Salomon Brothers Asset Management, and served as sector head of its energy and utilities investments. Mr. Sedoy was a senior analyst at AllianceBernstein Holding LP, where he worked on senior investment-grade, high-yield debt and distressed utilities and pipelines. He was a sell-side research associate for integrated oils and refiners at Sanford C. Bernstein.

Simon Farrant

Founding Partner

Simon Farrant, Founding Partner, brings over 30 years of diverse experience in senior management and operations within the global energy industry, culminating in his role as a former Executive Officer at Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB). During his tenure as the VP of Investor Relations, he earned recognition as the #1 Investor Relations Officer in Oilfield Services & Equipment by Institutional Investor Magazine (2017-2021). Mr. Farrant has a proven track record in global operations, having led Schlumberger’s North Sea Geomarket, a $3 billion business unit. His expertise also extends to significant global M&A and integration, highlighted by his management of the company’s $11 billion acquisition and integration of Smith International. As an Investor Relations consultant post-Schlumberger, he provides strategic guidance, notably advising on the SPAC transaction with Lifezone Metals (NYSE: LZM) for GoGreen Investments and playing a key role in LZM's subsequent investor relations efforts.

Eric Finlayson

Chief Geologist and Technical Officer

Eric Finlayson, Chief Geologist and Technical Officer, is a geologist with 40 years of global multi-commodity experience, 24 of those with Rio Tinto including five as Global Head of Exploration. The last 10 years have been spent working with various private and public companies associated with mining entrepreneur Robert Friedland. As President of Ivanhoe Electric, he saw the successful listing of the company on the New York Stock Exchange American in June 2022. He is currently consulting Head of Exploration with Boston-based private lithium metal battery company Pure Lithium Corporation and a director of Sunrise Energy Metals (ASX: SRL)

Eric Green

Senior Advisor

Eric Green, Senior Advisor, served for 32 years in the U.S. Foreign Service, in which he achieved the rank of Minister-Counselor. From 2021-23 he served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russia and Central Asia in the National Security Council, where he helped design and execute U.S. policy before and during the war in Ukraine. While in the Foreign Service, Mr. Green held leadership positions in overseas assignments in Russia, Poland, Iceland and Turkey as well as in Washington. He worked for five years helping to devise and implement U.S. strategy on the Northern Ireland Peace Process, both in Belfast and Washington. He serves as a non-resident scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Eurasia Foundation. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
